Tifferney White, CEO of the Louisiana Children’s Museum (LCM), has over 28 years of experience leading and supporting science and technology centers and children’s museums as places for all. She is highly regarded for her unwavering vision of culture and innovation, and commitment to children’s museums being places that support early learners, their families and local communities. With an Executive Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, one of White’s passions has been to orchestrate hands-on STEM and learning experiences for children who would not otherwise have exposure to children’s museums or their content. Her vision is for LCM to be a place where kids use shared exploration and conversation to connect with the people and world around them, thus giving them access to safe, innovative and educational experiences, while having fun in the process. Prior to joining LCM, White was the Chief Learning Officer of Discovery Place in Charlotte, N.C. During her time at Discovery Place, White worked to elevate Equity and Innovation while overseeing the leadership of guest experiences, exhibition design, operations, content development and educational experiences at the four Discovery Place museums: Science, Nature and two Kids locations. Prior to that, White held a series of leadership roles of increasing responsibility for DISCOVERY Children’s Museum (formerly Lied Discovery Children’s Museum) in Las Vegas. She was hired in 2007 as the director of programs and education, promoted to deputy director in 2009 and finally served as Interim CEO before officially being named President and CEO. White is a member of several community service organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Junior League to name a few. She has demonstrated her commitment to serving her community by her active and hands-on work within various community service organizations in diverse roles from president to committee member. White received the National Society of Black Engineers Transforming STEM’s Charlotte Trailblazers 2018 Award. She was featured in Biz New Orleans’ 2024 Biz 500 list and is a 2023 recipient of its New and Notables designation. White’s passion for education and supporting her community extends beyond career in nonprofits. She’s a board member and officer for the Association of Children’s Museums for which she serves as chair of governance and is also a board member of New Orleans & Company. White is a Qualified Administrator for Intercultural Development Inventory and has a certification in Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace from University of South Florida. White lives in New Orleans. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves to travel, especially to new places.
