Voris Vigee serves as the President & CEO of Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana and President of Renaissance Neighborhood Development Corporation. The journey she travels was inspired by the life her mother lived. Today, driven by the desire to create communities in which everyone can thrive and survive, Voris partners with businesses and community stakeholders to develop innovative services that support the most vulnerable people in the community. Through Voris’ leadership and the work of her team, over 30 community programs have been developed; and during this year, 312 affordable new apartments were brought online, and another 276 new apartments are in the pipeline.

Voris has been employed with Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana for 28 years and was selected among 16,000 employees across the country to receive the Volunteers of America Excellence in Administration award. She currently serves on two national Boards. A former board member of New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute, New Orleans Fair Housing Action Center, and other community organizations. Over the course of her career, Voris has presented to several leadership groups and convened many stakeholder forums to gather the thoughts and opinions of those who are vested in the community’s success. To remain current in best practices for the business, Voris served as an international surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities for 20+ years, a former member of Vistage International, and an alumna of the American Express Leadership Academy.

Her work was acknowledged by many platforms including recognition from New Orleans CityBusiness as a Woman of the Year honoree for her innovative leadership and outstanding contributions to the community and New Orleans Magazine recognized her as one of the Top Female Achievers. Voris received many more awards because of the overall impact of economic development she’s made in southeast Louisiana.

The acknowledgments were a result of moving the community forward with her energy and innovative ideas. In her spare time, she serves her local community through volunteer organizations, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and Pontchartrain Chapter of The Links Inc. A native of Chicago, Vigee has a supportive husband, Ronald, and three wonderful children.
